Bed was a little firm for my taste but my partner loved it and slept like a baby both nights. Most of the staff we came across were very warm and welcoming. Our second night we decided to go downstairs to the restaurant for dinner and drinks instead of venturing out. We found a table to sit down. We sat for about 10 minutes discussing if we order our food at the bar or should we wait for someone. My partner wanted to see what beers were on tap anyway so we made our way to the bar to be met with what I can only describe as the most patronising bar man I've ever come across. I asked if we were ok to order food while we were at the bar and was given the biggest eye roll, I'm surprised his eyes came back out of his skull that's how big we are talking here and then he proceeded to laugh in my face before asking how I "normally order food". I have genuinely never felt so belittled by another person in my life! My partner right there and then wanted to leave. He refused dessert and drinks as he could not sit in the presence of this rude member of staff and I unfortunately spent the rest of the night convincing him we should stay our last night. Luckily in the morning this member of staff was nowhere to be seen. The room was nice and clean, blackout curtains were a good send, breakfast and dinner were also amazing. All the other staff we encountered during our stay were so lovely. The girls were all friendly and approachable as well as the young guy on reception and the two guys at night time. We were celebrating our anniversary and the fact we had a trip with no kids which never happens. This would have been beyond perfect had it not been for this awful encounter on our second night.

Loved the location, parking, and breakfast (!!!!) couldn't fault anything. Bed was comfy, the place quiet even though there were lots of people in, nobody was hoovering at 7.30am so both morning we could sleep until we naturally woke up. 2nd night we had a restaurant booked and as we were leaving the hotel we realised its raining real bad. The receptionist gave us an umbrella to use, which was a lifesaver. Nothing was too much trouble for staff and I've got to say the breakfast was worth every penny. From the little yoghurt and muesli pots to the full English, everything was so tasty and fresh. Love how they promote being environmentally friendly as well. We will definitely go back there.

Upon arrival was met by friendly reception. Room very comfortable and clean. Location of hotel ideal as it is only a short walk from the train station and the town center. Great buffet breakfast with lots of options for varying tastes. Used restaurant in afternoon & evening that also had a bar, good choice of food with good selection of drinks. Always feel comfortable when staying there and look forward to next stay.

A clean room should be a given of course and the room at Ibis Carlisle was perfect. The accommodation is no frills but is most certainly good value for money. All staff we interacted with were very pleasant and welcoming. The hotel has an excellent location in the city with very good public transport links once we parked the car. This was our second very enjoyable stay in Carlisle and we will stay again at the Ibis.

Location - fantastic Staff - helpful and friendly Reception area - comfortable and warm. Access to rooms - lift and stairs both easily located. Rooms - we booked doubles and they were spacious and warm, the beds were comfortable and amenities in the rooms were basic but, serviceable. No USB ports however, adequate sockets. Most importantly the rooms were clean!
